AN AGREEMENT  BETWEEN HOCKEY QUEBEC AND COLLEGE HARRINGTON DU CANADA  ALLOWING PLAYER MOVEMENT IN THE AA CATEGORY

Oka, August 17, 2011—Hockey Quebec and College Harrington du Canada (HCC) have signed an agreement that will now give peewee, bantam, midget _ Junior AA players a second chance.  Players once cut from their local AA team must present themselves at HCC.  HCC plays in the Montreal Metro Hockey League as well as the local Laurentides Lanaudier league and the Federation Sport Etudiants Juvenille AAA and College AAA leagues.

College Harrington du Canada anticipates that players cut will apply from across the province and expect their AA and BB teams to be filled by early September.

HCC is a non-profit, hockey school that attracts elite hockey players who aspire to play professional hockey.  HCC has crafted an educational model that trains and develops these hockey players for a 10 month period at an unparalleled level.  HCC is accredited by the ‘Ministere de L’Education, du Loisir et du Sport’ (MELS) and delivers high level scholastic instruction.  HCC is a federated member of Hockey Quebec since 2008 and provides exceptional coaching under the guidance of the hockey director, Martin Daoust.  HCC acknowledges that most of its students will not reach their primary goal (pro hockey) and in conjunction with its students, establishes career plans through academic study.   • Players must present themselves at HCC upon being released from their local AA team.
  • Players must tryout and be selected by the appropriate coach.
  • Players must meet HCC academic standards.

The HCC program has students athletes on ice from 7:00 am to 12:00 each day and attending classes from 1:00 to 5:30.
